Itineraries

  • Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi you will be met and assisted by Peaks of Africa representative for transfer to the House of Waine, a quaint private house in a quiet suburb of Nairobi. Depending on your arrival schedule you may opt for some of the excursion that we offer or relax at the pool and lovely living areas.  Meals and overnight will be at the House of Waine (LDBB)
  • After breakfast you will visit the nearby Giraffe Center for endangered Rothschild giraffe, followed by the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (as featured in BBC’s Elephant Diaries). After lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant you will be transferred to the Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. On arrival you will be met at the airstrip for transfer to your camp. You will have an introductory nature walk with a naturalist is followed by an off-road game drive before returning for dinner and overnight at the Siana Intrepids Camp (L-DBB)
  • Breakfast at the lodge followed by morning and afternoon game drives.

    {Today you also have an opportunity to go on a spectacular Optional balloon ride across the Masai Mara.  The BALLOON SAFARI ADVENTURE begins in the pre-dawn hours and the magnificent view over the park is thrilling. Towards the end of the flight, you rise to a height of 1500 feet for a panoramic view of the twisting Mara River and the savannah below. After an hour or so in the air, your safari finishes with a flourish: a champagne breakfast in the bush, cooked on the balloon’s burners! Please note that this is an optional extra not included in the main tour package price – In the event of unfavorable weather a full refund will be given if the balloon does not take off}. This is your full day to explore the Mara a ravishingly beautiful place that also offers long, undisturbed views and utterly dramatic panoramas. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be at the Siana Intrepids Camp (LDBB)

  • Breakfast at the lodge followed by morning and afternoon game drives. You will have the services of a professional Driver / guide will introduce you to the magnificent birds of Kenya.  Return to camp before sunset for an exhilarating bush dinner (arrange for a minimum 6 persons in the group).
  • Departure at 0730hrs

    After breakfast check out and drive on the floor of the Rift Valley to the Great Rift Valley Resort whose setting overlooks Lake Naivasha. The resort offers an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, riding, pool and an adventure club. After lunch at the lodge you will visit the Elsa mere Born Free Centre, former home of Joy and George Adamson. You will also take a boat safari on the lake, followed by traditional English tea under tall fever trees. Return for dinner and overnight at the Great Rift Valley Lodge (LDBB)

  • Today you will relax and enjoy lodge facilities or take optional excursions. Meals and overnight at Great Rift Valley Lodge (LDBB)

  • Departure at 0800hrs

    Today you drive out of the Rift Valley, via Nairobi to the Amboseli National Park which lies in the shadows of Mt.Kilimanjaro, the most famous symbol of Africa. Arrival at toy lodge will be in time for lunch before being collected for the afternoon game drive. Amboseli is the ‘Home of the Elephants’ where large herds, sometime numbering up to 200 may be seen! You will have an afternoon game drive en-route to your lodge. Dinner and overnight will be at the Oltukai Lodge (LDBB)

  • Departure at 0730hrs

    After breakfast, out of Amboseli and into Tanzania, crossing the Kenya border at Namanga, and head for Ndarakwai Camp in Western Kilimanjaro where you will arrive in time for lunch. Owned by Peter Jones and Margot Kiser-Jones, the ranch is an excellent place for children to learn about the conservation and sustainable tourism programs that the Jones’ support for the benefit of local Masai communities as well as that of the wildlife. You will visit the Elephant viewing platform, the animal orphanage and Masai villages in the Kilimanjaro Conservancy while on your game drives or nature walks. Optional riding is also available if booked in advance. Dinner and overnight will be at Ndarakwai Camp (LDBB)

  • Today you will spend the whole day in Ndarakwai with morning and afternoon game drives – plus optional activities. Meals and overnight at Ndarakwai Camp (LDBB)

  • Departure at 0900hrs

    After breakfast drive to Gibbs Farm which is located on the Ngorongoro Highlands where you will arrive in time for lunch. The delightful Gibbs Farm is set in a farm that produces excellent coffee and organic vegetables. In the afternoon, we will tour the Lake Manyara National Park, which is famous for its tree climbing lions, vast Elephant and Buffalo herds as well as and Flamingos.   Dinner and overnight will be at Gibbs Farm (LDBB)

  • After a relaxed breakfast, we will visit a coffee farm and waterfall, bird watching at the same time. An early lunch (or we may take packed lunch) is followed by a game drive into Ngorongoro Crater, which contains the highest density of wildlife anywhere in Africa. We explore the savannah, acacia forests and lake shores for the ‘Big 5’. Despite the crowds, the crater is a thrilling place to be. We return to Gibbs Farm at dusk.  Dinner and overnight again at the Gibbs Farm (LDBB)
  • Departure at 0800hrs

    After breakfast check out for a drive back to Arusha where you will arrive in time for lunch at the Cultural Heritage Centre, before proceeding to Nairobi. You will be dropped off at the Jomo Kenyatta airport for your flight back home. Peaks of Africa representative will reconfirm your flights and assist at check-in. (This Family safari is best extended with a beach holiday)
