  • On arrival in Nairobi, meet and greet by Peaks of Africa representative, transfer to the private House of Waine at the foot of Ngong Hills, where once upon a time Karen Blixen had a coffee farm. Rest of the day at leisure.  Overnight at House of Waine (BB)
  • After breakfast, we drive in our 4×4 to Mara Serena at the southern edge of the Mara Game Reserve. The Serena is ideally located for the migration river crossings and has good access to all the central areas of the reserve. Every day, we set off as early as possible, occasionally taking a packed breakfast with us, and return as late as possible, perhaps after celebrating a fine photo session with sundowners.  Meals and overnight  at Mara Serena Lodge (LDBB)

  • Early morning game drive, breakfast at your lodge, then drive to the central part of Mara where there are good chances of leopard and rhino sightings. We can also explore the north western areas of the park towards Little Governors.

  • After an early morning game drive and breakfast, your driver/guide will transfer to the airstrip for the mid-morning flight from Mara to Nairobi. Met on arrival Wilson Airport and transfer to your hotel.   Overnight at Panari Hotel (BB)
  • Transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigali.  Met and assisted by Africa Journeys representative.  Transfer to your hotel.   Overnight at Intercontinental hotel (BB)
  • Depart early for Parc National de Volcans. Meet the head ranger for a briefing before you depart for your gorilla trek which may take anywhere between 2 hours to 4 hours, depending on the family gorilla assigned to your group. We have booked two treks for you and you may trek a different gorilla family each day.   Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge (LDBB)

  • Today, take the second trek. On return, enjoy lunch at the lodge before we drive back to Kigali. Drop off at your hotel. Overnight at The Intercontinental Hotel or similar (L-BB)

  • After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Nairobi to connect to your international flight home.
